Production Operative, Rotating Shifts, Telford
We are recruiting production operatives for a well established packaging manufacturer based in Hortonwood, Telford. This is steady, full time work with a client who looks after the people who turn up and graft. Plenty of our team have gone temp to perm here, so there is a real future in it for the right person.
What the job involves
You will be running press machines that produce aluminium foil containers. It is a quick pace and you will be on your feet, so this suits someone who likes to stay busy rather than watch the clock. The environment is loud, so ear defenders are provided and worn throughout. Because it is food grade production you will also wear a lab coat and a beard net on shift. Once you are in the rhythm of it the days fly by.
The shift pattern
This is a rotating weekly pattern, Monday to Friday, no weekends.
Days, 7am to 3pm. Afternoons, 3pm to 11pm. Nights, 11pm to 7am.
We will be straight with you, the rotation includes a nights week and it can be demanding, but the pay reflects that and a lot of people prefer the variety to a fixed shift.
What we need from you
Reliability above everything, the client is strict on attendance and so are we. You need to be happy committing to the full rotating pattern including the nights week. If you live outside Telford you must have your own method of transport, as you will need to attend every shift and we cannot rely on lifts or public transport from outside the area. A forklift licence is a strong advantage but not essential. If you hold ROPT or an A2 rider operated pallet truck licence let us know, it needs to be in date and we will need to see the certificate.
What is on offer
Pay is PAYE, paid weekly, and it climbs the longer you stay.
Weeks 0 to 4, £12.71 per hour. Weeks 4 to 12, £12.83 per hour. Week 12 onwards, £13.24 per hour.
Full time hours, free on site parking, and a genuine temp to perm route for anyone who shows up and does the job well. You will need steel toe boots and hi vis, and if you cannot get hold of hi vis let us know and we will sort you out.
