Hours: 15 hours per week, we can be flexible, however Wednesdays are a requirement.
Andover Mind is one of the leading mental health providers in Hampshire and we are looking for a caring, committed, empathetic, hard working team player to join us and to contribute to making a real difference as part of our teams working in Hart Rushmoor to deliver services to patients under the Transformation agenda.
As an integral and highly valued member of our MHICS (Mental Health Integrated Community Service) team, this is an opportunity to “give something back” in a positive way by using your own knowledge and experience of living with, and recovering from, mental illness or of caring for somebody who has mental health problems.
An essential element will be using your own personal experience in the appropriate way to provide formalised peer support and practical assistance to people using the service in order for them to regain control over their lives and their own unique recovery journey and to manage their own illness, supporting, encouraging and inspiring them.
You will help people to focus on achievable goals using a strengths based approach whilst remaining calm and professional in any stressful or challenging situation. In particular, the Lived Experience Practitioner will support the smooth transition of people using the service to other Mental Health services, by helping them to complete recovery and crisis plans for example.
Suitable for someone who is kind, caring and supportive with good interpersonal and communication skills and who is keen to provide the highest quality experience for people using GPiMHS / MHICS.
