Payroll Officer – Financial
Hours: 35 Hours Per Week, Mon – Fri (Hybrid: 3 days remote, 2 days office)
Contract: 52 Week Temporary Contract

We're recruiting a Payroll Officer to support the Finance team with payroll and pension administration. This is a key role, ideal for someone detail-oriented, reliable, and confident working with financial systems in a fast-paced environment.
About the Role:
As a Payroll Officer, you'll administer and maintain payroll and pension systems, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely delivery of payroll services across the NCHA Group.
What you'll be doing:
- Payroll administration – Administer payroll and pension systems, including expenses, statutory payments, and absence procedures
- System management – Operate payroll control accounts and systems (e.g., net pay and pension) to ensure completeness and accuracy
- Data analysis – Extract and analyse data from financial and payroll systems; draft returns and reports
- Year-end procedures – Assist with period and year-end payroll close down, producing required documentation
- Compliance support – Ensure records are accurate, reconciled, and compliant with statutory rules; liaise with auditors as required
- Stakeholder liaison – Answer complex payroll queries, maintain confidentiality, and recommend corrective actions
- Operational development – Contribute to system improvements, procedure manuals, and business transformation initiatives
- Team support – Provide cover across roles in the directorate when required

We're looking for someone organised, proactive, and comfortable managing multiple financial tasks.
You'll ideally have:
- Previous experience in payroll administration (preferably with ITrent)
- Strong organisational and time-management skills
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Confident IT skills, including Microsoft Office
- Good communication skills and a professional approach
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
