Carvers Building Supplies is looking for an ambitious and customer-focused Assistant Branch Manager to help lead our Kidderminster branch. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with builders’ merchant, trade supply, or branch management experience who is ready to take the next step in their career.
Role Overview
Working alongside the Branch Manager, you will play a key role in driving sales, delivering excellent customer service, supporting the team, and ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of the branch.
Key Responsibilities
· Support the day-to-day management of the Kidderminster branch.
· Lead, motivate and develop branch colleagues.
· Build and maintain strong relationships with trade and retail customers.
· Drive branch sales and profitability through proactive customer engagement.
· Assist with purchasing and stock control to ensure product availability.
· Support transport and delivery operations to maintain excellent customer service.
· Ensure high standards of health and safety, housekeeping and compliance.
· Handle customer enquiries, quotations and problem-solving efficiently.
· Help monitor branch performance and identify opportunities for growth.
· Support the Branch Manager in all operational and commercial activities.
About You
· Experience within a builders’ merchant, plumbing and heating merchant, timber merchant, or similar trade environment.
· Supervisory, team leader or management experience.
· Commercially aware and sales focused.
· Excellent communication and customer service skills.
· Able to lead by example and inspire a team.
· Organised, proactive and able to prioritise effectively.
· Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
· Confident using IT systems and business software.
