Little Gems Fleet belongs to a growing Nursery Group based in Hampshire ! We are looking for a strong and experienced Deputy Manager to lead a medium size team alongside our Nursery Manager with dedication and passion!
What does this role require?
Little Gems Fleet is a 19 place all year around setting that opened in June 2025! We are like one big family with 6 babies, 5 2 year olds and 8 pre-schoolers each day. Fleet community is one of its kind and we feel blessed to have opened our setting there.
We require someone with an experience in leadership or someone who is willing to step into a position of leadership and is able to inspire the team to success. Curiosity approach knowlegde will be a huge bonus.
As part of a team of Leaders and Educators, you’ll need excellent organisational skills and a passion for delivering high standards to collaboratively strive for excellence.
It's imperative that you uphold our high standards with employees and parents. Knowledge of EYFS legal requiremnts and Ofsted toolkit is essential.
This is room based role so you must ABSOLUTLY love spending time and engaging with children.

The role of the Deputy Manager
The Deputy is the welcoming face and the forefront of the nursery alongside the Manager and in Manager's absence.
You’ll be co- responsible for organising a busy and innovative Nursery with on avarage 19 children and 4 employees, collaboratively working with Leaders to ensure the smooth running of the setting.
The central and most important part of this role is supporting our Manager and staff on the ground to ensure excellent practice is carried out with children, putting into place the best and most up to date researched practices including behaviour management, personal care and hygiene, and child-led learning.
The Deputy will show passion and enthusiasm for Early Years and support and train staff on the Nursery floor, providing both inspiration, teachings of the Curiosity approach and feedback to staff throughout the day to create a culture of continuous professional development. It is expected the Deputy spend a good proportion of their time in practice with staff, to include side by side coaching, supporting planning meetings, establishing routines etc
Our nurseries are predominantly child-led and our curriculum is emergent, so you’ll need to inspire your team to think on their feet and be in tune with children to extend their learning in the moment.
_ Pay: From £14.50-£15 per hour
Important information:
- Our nurseries operate 50 weeks of the year 8 am - 6pm Monday-Friday.
- The position is all year around, 4 or 3 days per week
