About the Role
The Inventory Control Manager owns stock accuracy and inventory integrity across the warehouse. The role is responsible for inventory governance, cycle counting, investigations and reporting, and for managing tax stamp inventory control in line with the upcoming Vaping Products Duty requirements. It also leads the management of slow-moving, obsolete and dead stock so that inventory stays healthy as product ranges grow.
What You'll Do
- Own inventory governance, policies and controls across the operation.
- Manage tax stamp inventory control in line with HMRC Vaping Products Duty requirements.
- Run the cycle count programme to maintain continuous stock accuracy.
- Lead inventory investigations into variances and discrepancies.
- Carry out root cause analysis and put corrective actions in place.
- Manage returns reconciliation so returned stock is accurately accounted for.
- Produce inventory reporting for the operation and senior management.
- Manage slow-moving and obsolete stock, including clear actions to reduce it.
- Monitor stock ageing and produce regular ageing reports.
- Carry out dead stock analysis and support SKU rationalisation reviews.
- Any other reasonable task assigned by your line manager in line with the needs of the business
Skills & Experience
- Proven inventory control or stock management experience in warehouse, distribution or FMCG.
- Strong understanding of cycle counting, stock accuracy and inventory governance.
- Experience with inventory investigations and root cause analysis.
- Good ERP / WMS knowledge and strong reporting and analytical skills.
- Awareness of tax stamp / duty stamp control would be an advantage.
- Experience managing slow-moving, obsolete and dead stock.
- Methodical, accurate and comfortable working to audit standards.
