Job Title: Kitchen Assistant / Relief Cook

About the Role
We are looking for a reliable, experienced home cook to join our small, friendly team at Lexham Green Rest Home, a 26-bed residential care home in Wales.
This is a permanent, part-time post working 21 hours per week on a fortnightly rota (3 shifts per week, 7:00am–2:00pm). You will have every other weekend off.
Day to day you will work as a kitchen assistant, supporting the lead cook. You will also be required to step up as the main cook to cover holidays and sickness, so the ability to plan and deliver meals independently is important.
What We're Looking For
We don't require formal catering qualifications — what matters most is that you:
- Enjoy cooking and take pride in feeding people well
- Have experience cooking for others (domestic, community or professional)
- Can produce varied, nutritious meals from fresh ingredients
- Are flexible and happy to work as an assistant or as the lead cook as needed
- Are reliable and punctual — this is essential
- Have a warm, caring approach and respect for our residents
