Job Role:
We are seeking an experienced Nursery Manager / Senior Manager to join our Ofsted Outstanding and NDNA award-winning nursery, where we are committed to delivering exceptional early years education. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced manager who is looking to progress into a Senior Nursery Manager position and further develop their leadership career within a growing organisation with further promotion opportunities available.
The successful candidate will be primarily based at our Broadstairs nursery, supporting the day-to-day management, leadership, and performance of the setting. Working closely with the Operations Manager, they will play a key role in maintaining excellence across all aspects of nursery provision while supporting the company’s continued growth, development, and expansion plans.
Our nursery offers children an outstanding forest class environment, as well as beach and farm classes, providing rich, hands-on learning experiences that inspire curiosity and confidence. In addition to supporting the nursery’s daily operations, the role will involve working alongside the Operations Manager on wider operational responsibilities across the organisation, providing valuable experience and a clear pathway towards future progression as the company expands.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the day-to-day management of the nursery, ensuring smooth and effective operations.
- Assist in ensuring full compliance with regulatory standards, Ofsted requirements, EYFS, safeguarding legislation, and internal policies.
- Lead, supervise, and inspire staff, promoting a positive, motivated, and collaborative team culture.
- Support staff to plan and deliver learning experiences that are fully aligned with the EYFS, meeting each child’s individual learning and development needs.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues to promote an inclusive and welcoming environment.
- Ensure all health and safety procedures are consistently followed.
- Uphold the highest standards of safeguarding and child protection at all times.
- Ensure all staff understand and follow safeguarding policies and procedures.
- Respond appropriately to safeguarding concerns, reporting and recording information accurately.
- Promote a culture of vigilance, safety, and wellbeing throughout the nursery.
- Manage administrative tasks including record-keeping, attendance monitoring, and required reporting.
- Support recruitment processes, including interviewing candidates and conducting staff appraisals.
- Work alongside the Operations Manager on quality assurance, staff development, operational projects, and business growth initiatives.
- Support other nursery settings within the group as required.
Requirements
- A minimum of 3 years’ proven experience as a Nursery Manager within an early years setting.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide a team.
- In-depth knowledge of childcare practices, safeguarding, EYFS, and regulatory requirements.
- Hands-on experience working with children across a range of age groups.
- NVQ Level 3 in Childcare (or equivalent) or higher is required.
- Excellent organisational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Passionate about early childhood development and committed to creating a safe, stimulating, and nurturing learning environment.
- A desire to develop professionally and contribute to the future growth of the company.
