Applications are invited for a Qualitative Researcher to work with a research team led by Dr Yaling Yang and Professor Stavros Petrou on a research project in Qualitative Life Measurement development.
The post holder will work on a project namely ‘Identification, development and assessment of a sleep bolt on to the EQ-5D-5L health-related quality of life measure – a sequential mixed methods study’. This exciting project is funded by the EuroQol Research Foundation which is the developer of EQ-5D a widely used Health Related Quality of Life (HRQoL) measure and a key funder in this area. The aims of the study is to identify, develop and validate a sleep item that well describe people’s HRQoL.
The post holder will lead and undertake qualitative components of this research project including literature review, study design, data collection and analysis from interviews and focus groups, and applying established qualitative methodologies and HRQoL measure development principles. The post holder will also collaborate with members of the team to support the design and implementation of quantitative online survey, and the dissemination of research findings through publications, reports and presentations. The role also requires strong organisational skills, attention to detail in research coordination and delivery, the ability to work both independently and collaboratively, and excellent written communication skills.
You should hold or be close to completing, a PhD/DPhil in a relevant health-related discipline or a related field. You should have relevant research experience and skills in qualitative research, including the design and conduct of qualitative studies, data collection (e.g. interviews and focus groups), and qualitative data analysis using established methodologies. To succeed in this role, you will have a strong interest in qualitative research methods, excellent analytical skills, and a motivation to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary research teams. Interest in quality-of-life measurement or sleep problems is welcome.
You will be based in the Radcliffe Primary Care Building, Nuffield Department of Primary Care Health Sciences, Woodstock Road, Oxford, OX2 6GG as your normal place of work but you may be able to agree a pattern of regular remote working with your line manager.
The position is available part-time (0.5 Fte) for 14 months in the first instance, with the potential for extension.
