Excell Supply is a specialist education recruitment agency currently recruiting dedicated and enthusiastic Secondary SEN Teaching Assistants to work on a supply basis in a variety of secondary schools across Warrington and the surrounding areas.

As a Supply SEN Teaching Assistant, you will support students aged 11–16 with a range of additional learning needs, helping them access the curriculum and achieve their full potential.
The Role
Working closely with teachers, SENCOs, and school support staff, you will:
- Provide one-to-one and small-group support for students with Special Educational Needs (SEN).
- Support students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD, Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
- Assist students in accessing the curriculum and participating fully in lessons.
- Help implement Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) and individual support strategies.
- Promote positive behaviour, independence, and student wellbeing.
- Adapt learning resources to meet individual needs.
- Monitor progress and provide feedback to teaching staff.
- Support students during lessons, transitions, and other school activities.
Essential:
- Experience working with children or young people in education, care, youth work, coaching, or support settings.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A patient, proactive, and compassionate approach.
- A genuine passion for supporting young people with additional needs.
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
Desirable:
- Experience supporting SEN students in a secondary school.
- Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification.
- Knowledge of ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and learning difficulties.
- Team Teach or other behaviour management training.
