Kurt Hobbs Coachworks is one of the UK's leading commercial vehicle bodybuilders, renowned for delivering high-quality, bespoke vehicle solutions across a wide range of industries. Due to continued growth and an increasing order book, we are looking to recruit an experienced Commercial Vehicle Body Builder / Coachbuilder to join our skilled workshop team.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced professional who takes pride in their craftsmanship and enjoys working on bespoke commercial vehicle projects.
The Role
Working within our production team, you'll be responsible for building, modifying and fitting commercial vehicle bodies to the highest standards.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Building and assembling commercial vehicle bodies from engineering drawings.
- Fitting aluminium and steel body components.
- Installing floors, sides, roofs, doors and tail lifts.
- Carrying out modifications and repairs to commercial vehicle bodies.
- Using a variety of hand and power tools.
- Working with steel, aluminium and composite materials.
- Ensuring all work is completed to exceptional quality standards.
- Working closely with fabrication, welding and finishing teams.
- Maintaining a safe, clean and organised workshop.
About You
We're looking for someone with previous experience in commercial vehicle body building or coachbuilding who enjoys producing quality work.
You'll ideally have:
- Previous experience as a Commercial Vehicle Body Builder, Coachbuilder or Vehicle Body Fitter.
- Experience working on HGVs, LGVs, vans or specialist commercial vehicles.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Experience using workshop machinery and hand tools.
- Strong practical and problem-solving skills.
- High attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- A positive attitude and excellent work ethic.
Experience within commercial vehicle manufacturing, trailer manufacturing, body repair or bespoke vehicle conversions would be highly advantageous.
