Working Days: Monday to Sunday, with Wednesdays and Saturdays off
Hours: 8:00am – 5:00pm Monday to Saturday
Sunday: 9:00am – 4:30pm
About the Role
We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Kitchen Cook to join our team at Homeleigh Garden Centre, Launceston.
You will be responsible for preparing and cooking a range of food to a consistently high standard, ensuring our customers receive delicious, freshly prepared meals and excellent service.
This is a varied role, and one or two shifts each week may involve working within our restaurant rather than the kitchen, helping with front-of-house duties and supporting the wider restaurant team when required.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparing and cooking food to a high standard
- Maintaining current consistency and quality
- Ensuring high standards of food hygiene, cleanliness and health & safety
- Working efficiently during busy service periods
- Maintaining a clean, organised and safe kitchen environment
- Monitoring stock levels and helping with food preparation and stock rotation
- Working as part of a friendly and supportive team
- Providing excellent customer service when working in the restaurant
- Supporting colleagues across the kitchen and restaurant as required
About You
The successful candidate will:
- Have previous professional kitchen/cooking experience – essential
- Be confident working in a busy kitchen environment
- Have a good understanding of food hygiene and kitchen safety
- Be able to work efficiently as part of a team
- Take pride in preparing and presenting good-quality food
- Be reliable, organised and have a positive attitude
- Be flexible and happy to work in both the kitchen and restaurant when required
Pay: £13.50 per hour
