Summary
We're expanding our warehouse operations and are looking for an experienced Warehouse Manager to join our growing team. This is a hands-on leadership role with real ownership and accountability. You'll sit alongside our existing Warehouse Managers and report directly to the Deputy Operations Manager. This role exists to ensure every shift, inbound flow, and stock movement operates to standard—not to preference.
Responsibilities
Inbound and Goods In
- Safe and efficient unloading of containers and inbound deliveries
- Daily and weekly Goods In planning across operational warehouses
- Coordinating inbound flow with the Import Team
- Advising early on delays, congestion, or capacity constraints
- Sequencing inbound vs outbound activity based on operational need
Stock and warehouse allocation
- Coordinating where inbound stock is receipted and stored
- Aligning placement decisions with Stock Control and WMS guidance
- Preventing uncontrolled or ad-hoc stock placement
- Ensuring inbound decisions support outbound performance and accuracy
Outbound execution
- Pick, pack, and dispatch performance
- Labour planning, productivity, and deployment
- Cross-shift consistency and standard enforcement
People and compliance
- Performance management of Shift Managers and supervisors
- Conducting probation reviews and owning disciplinary processes
- Ensuring all mandatory training is completed, current, and recorded
- Delegating effectively while retaining accountability for standards and outcomes
Safety and site management
- Health and safety compliance across inbound and outbound operations
- Incident reporting, investigation, and oversight
- Site security, access control, and permit management
- Trailer schedules, dock management, and yard cleanliness
What we're looking for
- Proven experience in a warehouse management role, ideally within a high-volume environment
- Strong understanding of inbound and outbound operations
- Experience managing Shift Managers, supervisors, and operatives
- Comfortable using WMS systems and working in a data-led operation
- Clear, direct communicator who sets standards and holds people to them
- Able to balance speed, accuracy, and safety without being told which one matters
Monday to Friday and one weekend day on a rotation with rest of management team
Pay: £35,000.00 per year
