Senior Residential Support Worker – Children’s Home

We are looking for a Senior Residential Support Worker to become an important part of our team within a children’s residential home.
This role is about much more than providing care. You will help create a stable, supportive and positive environment where children and young people can feel safe, develop their confidence and work towards a brighter future.
As a Senior, you will lead by example, support your colleagues and take an active role in the day-to-day running of the home.
Your Responsibilities:
- Provide consistent, high-quality care and support to children and young people.
- Build positive relationships based on trust, respect and understanding.
- Encourage young people to participate in education, hobbies, activities and community life.
- Support emotional wellbeing and help young people manage difficult feelings and situations.
- Promote independence and develop practical skills such as cooking, budgeting and personal organisation.
- Take responsibility for the home during shifts and ensure routines are maintained.
- Lead and support the staff team, delegating tasks where appropriate.
- Complete clear and accurate records, handovers and reports.
- Follow care plans, risk assessments and safeguarding procedures.
- Respond appropriately to challenging behaviour and incidents.
- Work alongside managers, social workers, families, schools and other professionals.
- Help maintain a safe, clean and welcoming home.
- Support new and existing staff through positive role modelling and guidance.
- Participate in meetings, training, supervision and ongoing development.

Essential Requirements:
- Hold a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or equivalent
- Experience within Residential Childcare
- Aged 21+
