Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Maintenance Operative to join our team on a full-time basis, working 35 hours per week over 5 days.
The role is based at Paxton Hall Care Home, and the candidate will be provided with a handover from the outgoing Handyman who is now retiring.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in general upkeep and electrical maintenance, with experience maintenance activities of a care home. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a proactive approach to facilities management, ensuring the smooth operation of our premises through effective troubleshooting, repairs, and preventative maintenance. Candidates should have excellent communication skills in English and demonstrate a commitment to high standards of safety and customer service.
Responsibilities
- Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems to ensure operational efficiency.
- Be good and efficient in painting and decorating and have high attention to detail
- Supervise maintenance tasks carried out by team members or contractors, ensuring safety standards are met.
- Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections for compliance purposes.
- Ensure all work areas are kept clean, safe, and organised in accordance with health and safety regulations.
- Provide excellent customer service by responding promptly to maintenance requests from manager and estates manager
Requirements
- Proven experience in decorating, electrical and plumbing general maintenance tasks.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to carry out their role effectively.
- Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while adhering to safety protocols.
- A proactive attitude towards problem-solving and continuous improvement initiatives.
