Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Optical Assistant/Dispenser to join our friendly team. In this role, you will assist customers with their optical needs, dispense spectacles, and support the overall smooth operation of our practice. Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and provide exceptional customer service throughout their visit
- Assist with frame selection, lens options, and explain optical products clearly
- Dispense glasses accurately, ensuring proper fit and comfort for each patient
- Support the optometrists with basic eye examinations and measurements when required
- Maintain accurate records of prescriptions, orders, and customer details
- Ensure the cleanliness and organization of the dispensary area and optical equipment
- Stay informed about the latest optical products, lens technologies, and industry standards
Requirements
- Previous laboratory experience or familiarity with optical lens fabrication is highly desirable
- Knowledge of human anatomy related to the eye will be advantageous
- Strong communication skills with a friendly, professional manner
- Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team
- Attention to detail and accuracy in dispensing prescriptions and handling customer information
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities within a busy practice

Pay: £25,420.00-£36,330.42 per year
