The post holder is responsible for the day-to-day coordination and supervision of an administrative service within forensic inpatient services, ensuring delivery of a high‑quality, efficient and patient‑focused service.
Working as part of a wider management structure, the post holder will support the Head of Administration by overseeing routine administrative processes, allocating work, supervising staff and ensuring compliance with local procedures and Trust policies. The post holder will provide comprehensive administrative support to the Senior Service Lead.
The role requires effective organisation and prioritisation of work, close liaison with clinical and non‑clinical colleagues, and proactive problem‑solving to maintain service continuity. The post holder will contribute to service improvement activity, support performance monitoring, and act as a point of advice for administrative staff on operational matters.
- Coordinate and supervise the day-to-day work of the administrative team, ensuring tasks are prioritised, appropriately allocated and completed within agreed timescales.
- Provide routine supervision, guidance and support to administrative staff, escalating complex or sensitive issues to the Head of Administration as required.
- Monitor and support the management of staff attendance, sickness absence and annual leave, ensuring accurate record-keeping and compliance with Trust policies.
- Support recruitment activity, including drafting vacancy adverts, shortlisting, arranging interviews and coordinating the onboarding of new starters.
- Deliver and support induction and ongoing training for new and existing staff on systems, local processes and ways of working.
- Undertake work checks and quality monitoring to ensure accuracy, consistency and adherence to agreed procedures and standards.
- Take responsibility for the initial resolution of staffing and operational issues, applying professional judgement and escalating where appropriate.
- Provide effective business and administrative support to senior service leads as required.
