Ceredigion Council Occupational Therapy Team – Targeted and Short Term Services.

This Occupational Therapy Assistant role will be based within the Technology Enabled Care team.

As an Occupational Therapy Assistant, you can expect to receive supervision and support to develop the specialist skills necessary for your role.
Your focus in the team will be to:
Penmorfa Centre for Independent Living – Provide visitors with access to early advice and information to empower them to make choices to support their own independence and wellbeing
Technology-Enabled Care – Assess needs and deploy solutions within agreed frameworks under the direction of our TEC team. This will include visiting service users in the community to install and service equipment to support independence and assess need.
Prescribe solutions within the trusted assessor framework alongside TEC installations, providing a more person-centred offer to our service users.
Recognise and work within the scope and remit of your role, seeking support and guidance as appropriate.
As an Occupational Therapy Assistant, you should have a basic understanding of the OT profession. Previous experience of working within health or social care is desirable but not essential.

Welcoming visitors to our independent living centre and helping to demonstrate potential solutions to their needs.
Helping to deliver our ‘Technology by Default’ approach working with a range of potential solutions.
Supporting the service flexibly within the scope of your role by being deployed where you’re skills and experience can benefit service users most.
