Understanding our salary bands & points:
Our salary B1 is £25,310.90 (Term Time Equivalent £22,098.36) and this would be your starting salary if you hold no relevant qualification to the role. If you wish to progress and work towards the qualification and move up the salary banding you can complete the qualification with us, and the society will cover the cost of this. Once completed you will be eligible to move up the banding to B2 and your salary with be £25,968.64 (Term Time Equivalent £22,672.62). Please note, if you do not wish to complete the relevant qualification you will remain on point 1 of the band. If you already hold the relevant qualification your starting salary will be B2 £25,968.64 (Term Time Equivalent £22,672.62).

Working independently and as part of a team, you will support children and young people to access highly personalised programmes of study, with the aim of helping them to achieve their individual aspirations. You will need to be enthusiastic, able to use your own initiative, have a drive and resilience for what is often a demanding role; and you must be people-centred with good communication and interpersonal skills, enabling you to build positive relationships with both staff and pupils.
Whilst we value relevant experience, it is not essential for candidates to have previously worked with autistic individuals – all we ask is that you are hard-working, willing to learn and committed to promoting the positive development of children and young people. For more than 40 years we’ve led the way in providing autism-specific care and education for children, young people, and adults across the North-East of England.
This role is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and the amendments to the Exceptions Order 1975, 2013 and 2020.
