Job Purpose:
You will support our long-term elderly residents by maintaining the environment they live in to ensure their safety and meet compliance requirements.
Duties:
· Carrying out any repairs and renewals including basic plumbing, electrics, painting and decoration etc to keep the Home in good working order
· Undertaking regular testing as on equipment to ensure all working correctly e.g. emergency lighting, fire alarms, water temperature testing
· Maintaining the garden, keeping all areas neat and tidy, this to include plant and tree maintenance.
· Assisting in the moving in of new Service Users i.e. moving of furniture, pictures, etc.
· Working with the team to keep the home in a good state of tidiness and repair
· Completing the required paperwork in a timely and effective manner
· Be ‘on call’ for advice/action in any emergency which may arise out of hours
Skills/Qualifications:
· Practical and can demonstrate experience in basic maintenance skills
· Friendly and enthusiastic and works well in a team
· Proactive in identifying work to be done to continue to maintain and upgrade the Home
· Supportive and flexible in meeting the dynamic needs in residential care
· Right to work in the UK (COS is not available)
Experience:
Ideally, you will have previously been a Maintenance Person or Trades Person and have worked with those with dementia or learning difficulties.
