Logistics and Facilities Manager

Now in its 47th year, Cavendish is recognised as the UK’s premier ships stores supplier, sourcing food and non-food, consumable and hotel products globally and supplying to cruise and ferry companies from our base near Fareham. In addition, the company serves a number of non-maritime customers. With healthy growth projected over the next five years across our customer base and beyond, we need to ensure not only operational resilience today, but a capability that matches our ambitious growth expectations tomorrow.
The role
The position of Logistics & Facilities Manager reports to the Managing Director and is integral to the site leadership team. As part of an SME, the leadership team is multi-skilled, delivering both functional expertise and collective responsibility to drive the company’s results. As the job title suggests, the role assumes responsibility for the company’s logistics and facilities agendas, however it also supports a number of wider operational elements, including our warehousing operation and compliance functions.
The person
We are seeking an experienced, hands-on transport or logistics leader who can engage with stakeholders internally and externally. The suitable candidate will be equally comfortable undertaking activities that support the business’s day-to-day operations, alongside using their expertise negotiating with suppliers and engaging with customers to identify and drive improvement opportunities.
Preferred skills/experience
- Transport and logistics operations.
- Site or building facilities and services.
- Health and safety.
- Food safety and quality compliance (ideally BRCGS).
- Forklift truck licence (ideally counterbalance and reach).
- HGV driver
- Transport Manager CPC qualified
