Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Mechanic-MOT Tester to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for conducting servicing and vehicle repairs thorough inspections and tests on vehicles to ensure they meet safety and environmental standards. Responsibilities
- Perform MOT tests on a variety of vehicles, ensuring compliance with legal requirements.
- Conduct detailed inspections of vehicle components, including brakes, lights, steering, and suspension systems and carry out the necessary repairs.
- Carry out diagnostic Checks Identify any defects or issues that may affect vehicle safety and performance.
- Complete necessary documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
- Communicate findings to vehicle owners and provide recommendations for repairs or maintenance.
- Maintain a clean and organised work environment, adhering to health and safety regulations.
- Utilise power tools and hand tools effectively to assist in testing procedures.
- Collaborate with team members to enhance service efficiency and customer satisfaction.
Experience
- Proven experience as an MOT Tester or in a similar role within the automotive industry is preferred.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to diagnose issues effectively.
- Familiarity with using power tools and hand tools safely and efficiently.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting as required during vehicle inspections.
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact with customers effectively.
