Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and professional Senior Bar Person to join our vibrant hospitality team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in serving beverages and providing exceptional customer service within a lively bar environment. This role offers an opportunity to lead by example, ensuring the highest standards of service, and organisation are maintained at all times. The Senior Bar Person will be responsible for supervising junior staff, managing bar operations, and delivering memorable experiences for our customers.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve a wide range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages efficiently and accurately.
- Ensure all drinks are prepared in accordance with company standards and legal requirements, including food safety regulations.
- Supervise and support junior bar staff, providing guidance on service techniques and customer interactions.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the bar area, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards.
- Manage bar is well-stocked at all times.
- Handle customer enquiries, resolve complaints promptly, and ensure guests have an enjoyable experience.
- Assist in training new team members to uphold service quality standards.
- Monitor the utilisation of resources to optimise efficiency during busy periods.
- Uphold responsible alcohol service policies at all times.
Skills
- Proven experience within hospitality, particularly in a bar or restaurant setting.
- Strong knowledge of and legal alcohol serving regulations.
- Excellent serving skills with a friendly, professional demeanour.
- Good organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Basic maths skills for handling cash transactions and measuring ingredients accurately.
- Effective time management to ensure timely service during peak hours.
- Leadership qualities with the ability to motivate and guide team members.
- Exceptional communication skills to interact confidently with guests and colleagues.
The shift pattern normally is Tuesday/Friday/Saturday/Sunday eve + Saturday afternoon.
Start times at night 5.45pm close between 9pm and 9.45pm. Afternoon session 12pm till 3.30pm
Must be over 18 to comply with licensing laws.
Pay: £12.71-£14.00 per hour
