Join Our Team at Zealous Electrical
Zealous Electrical NW Ltd is currently seeking an experienced Electrician to join our growing renewable energy installation team.
The role will mainly involve electrical works connected with Air Source Heat Pumps (ASHP), Solar PV systems, battery storage, electric storage heaters, and associated renewable energy installations. The ideal candidate will have strong electrical installation experience, a good understanding of domestic and/or commercial electrical systems, and the flexibility to work on projects across the UK.
We cover nationwide projects, so working away will be required. We aim to return home for weekends where possible. Work patterns may include a mix of local work and away work, depending on project locations and workload.
Responsibilities
- Carry out electrical installation works for renewable energy systems, with a focus on Air Source Heat Pumps and Solar PV installations
- Install and connect electrical supplies for ASHP systems, including isolators, wiring, containment, protective devices, and associated controls
- Install Solar PV systems, battery storage systems, inverters, generation meters, isolators, and associated electrical equipment
- Support installation works for electric storage heaters, ventilation systems, and other renewable technologies where required
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, containment, lighting, power, and control systems
- Carry out testing, inspection, fault finding, and troubleshooting using appropriate test equipment
- Read and follow technical drawings, wiring diagrams, specifications, and installation plans
- Ensure all work is completed safely, professionally, and to a high standard
- Ensure installations comply with relevant regulations, manufacturer guidance, and company procedures
- Work alongside other trades, engineers, and installation teams to complete projects on time
- Travel to sites across the UK as required
Experience & Requirements
- Proven experience as an Electrician
- Experience with ASHP electrical works, Solar PV installations, battery storage, or other renewable technologies is highly desirable
- 18th Edition qualification preferred
- Level 3 Electrical Installation qualification preferred, or currently working towards it
- Good understanding of electrical systems, wiring, containment, testing, and safe isolation procedures
- Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and electrical testing equipment safely and effectively
- Ability to read technical diagrams, wiring drawings, and installation plans
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Good physical condition and flexibility to work in different site environments
- Willingness to work away from home as part of the role
- Full UK driving licence preferred
- Applicants may need to meet company vehicle insurance requirements where a company vehicle is provided
Working Away
Working away is an important part of this role as we cover projects across the UK.
We have both local and away work. Depending on workload, the working pattern may include one to two weeks away followed by one to two weeks on more local projects. We aim to return home for weekends where possible.
