OurCamps are a friendly and lively company delivering multi-activity camps for children aged 4-16 over the, Easter, Summer and winter school holidays.
This holiday we are providing a camp specifically for children and young people. We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic, approachable and a confident leader to work alongside other activity staff to deliver a range of fun activities, create a safe calm space for teenagers and facilitate the needs of all children.
OurCamps work in direct partnership with the Councils and Local Authority partners to make attending camp FREE for free school meal children. We believe that everyone deserves a great experience during the holidays.
Responsibilities:
- Leading small group activities and ensuring the inclusion of all children
- Have confidence to decide which activities to do and when to do them
- Positive and consistent engagement with all children
- Keep all children safe throughout the day at camp
- Represent OurCamps by being polite, welcoming, and professional at all times towards everyone at camp
- Maintaining good behaviour management and be a positive role model
- Become familiar with OurCamps policies, procedures, and expectations of all staff
- Maintain all equipment used and ensure the space used is kept clean and tidy
- Be responsible for promoting the safety and welfare of all children at camp
- Be responsible for safeguarding all children and following any safeguarding procedures
- Be responsible for helping create a safe environment
Essential requirements:
- 16 years or older
- Must have an enhanced DBS check (If you require your DBS to be enhanced, we can assist)
- Follow an Interview Process via Zoom/Phone Call
- Be eligible to work in the UK
- Complete relevant online training modules
Preferable requirements:
- Ideally with experience of working or volunteering with children in a play or sports environment
- First Aid
- Ability to communicate at all levels, particularly with children
- Ability to work on own initiative but also as part of a team
