Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Slinger Signaller to join our construction team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and efficient movement of materials and equipment on-site. Duties
- Direct the movement of lifting equipment and loads using hand signals or radio communication, ensuring precise and safe operations
- Assist crane operators by providing clear signalling during lifting operations
- Conduct regular safety checks on lifting gear and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
- Coordinate with other team members to plan lifting sequences and optimise site logistics
- Maintain clear communication with the crane operator, ground crew, and site management throughout all lifting activities
- Ensure all lifting activities are carried out in accordance with site procedures and safety standards
- Keep accurate records of lifts performed and report any issues or hazards immediately
Requirements
- Proven construction experience, particularly in roles involving lifting operations or signalling
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to clearly relay instructions under potentially noisy conditions
- Fluency in English, both written and spoken, to ensure effective communication across the team
- Valid driving licence, with experience in operating or manoeuvring construction vehicles preferred
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations related to lifting operations is highly desirable
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and remain alert during long shifts
- Demonstrated commitment to safety procedures and teamwork
