About Well Life Clinic
Well Life Clinic is a modern, CQC-registered private GP practice with sites in Oxted and Cobham, Surrey. We are opening our new site in St Albans, and are looking for an experienced GP to join our clinical team.
We offer same-day appointments Monday to Friday 08:30-18:30 and Saturday 08:30-12:30, with 20-minute standard appointments and extended slots for complex presentations. Our clinical team is selected from among the most experienced GPs, and we hold ourselves to the highest standards of safety, compassion, and responsiveness.
The Opportunity
We are looking for an experienced GP to join Well Life Clinic as a sessional associate at our new St Albans site.
We have a particular need for Tuesday availability - candidates who can commit to regular Tuesday sessions are especially encouraged to apply. Tuesday availability is essential for this role.
This is a self-employed, hourly-paid arrangement offering the flexibility of sessional working without the isolation of locum life. We are looking for someone who wants to genuinely be part of the team - including attending clinical meetings, contributing to service development, and building continuity with a regular patient group.
Session patterns are flexible and do not need to be identical each week, but we are looking for a consistent, ongoing commitment rather than ad hoc cover.

The Role
As a sessional associate GP at Well Life Clinic, you will:
- Deliver 20-minute private GP appointments and extended consultations for complex or multiple presentations
- Perform minor surgery including skin lesion excision and biopsy, cryotherapy, incision and drainage, and other minor surgical procedures
- Perform routine in-clinic procedures including venepuncture, ECGs, IM injections, and vaccination administration
- Conduct Essential Health Assessments in line with our published health assessment service
- Build continuity with a regular patient group across sessions
- Attend and contribute to clinical governance meetings, case discussions, and service development
- Work with the freedom to provide thorough, patient-centred care, unencumbered by the constraints of a high-volume NHS setting
- Contribute to our growing service offering, including Women's and Men's Health, Paediatrics, Mental Health, preventative care, and minor surgery
Person SpecificationEssential
- Full GMC registration with a licence to practise
- Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in General Practice
- Minimum 2 years post-CCT experience
- Competence in minor surgery (e.g. excision of skin lesions, cryotherapy, I&D), with appropriate training and current indemnity cover for surgical procedures
- Competence in core in-clinic procedures: venepuncture/phlebotomy, 12-lead ECG recording and interpretation, IM injection technique, and vaccine/immunisation administration
- Enhanced DBS (with barred list) - current or willingness to obtain
- Valid professional indemnity cover (MDU or equivalent) covering both general practice and minor surgery
- Safeguarding Level 3 and Basic Life Support certification
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Patient-centred, compassionate, and thorough approach
- Tuesday availability for regular, committed sessions
Desirable
- Previous experience in private general practice or corporate health settings
- Minor surgery log/portfolio or formal training (e.g. RCGP or FSEM certificate)
- Working knowledge of Semble and/or SignatureRx
- Special interests aligned to our service offering (e.g. Women's Health, Dermatology, Paediatrics, Mental Health, ADHD)
- Local knowledge of the St Albans patient population
- Enthusiasm for contributing to clinical governance, audit, and service development
