The Role
We are looking for a friendly and enthusiastic Clinical Assistant to join our Colchester clinic on a fixed-term maternity cover contract until April 2027.
As a Clinical Assistant, you will be the first point of contact for our patients, helping to ensure they receive a welcoming and professional experience throughout their visit. Your responsibilities will include carrying out preliminary clinical assessments such as measuring visual acuity, performing visual field testing, and obtaining diagnostic images using OCT. You will also explain the appointment process to patients, support the smooth day-to-day running of the clinic, and assist with patient enquiries and appointment bookings.
This is a varied and rewarding role, working closely with our clinical team to deliver high-quality specialist eye care.
About You
You will have a friendly, approachable manner and enjoy working as part of a team to provide an excellent patient experience. You should be organised, proactive, and able to work independently when required. Confidence using Microsoft Excel and clinical IT systems is desirable.
Full training will be provided. Previous experience in an optical practice, healthcare, or clinical environment would be advantageous, but most importantly, you will have a genuine interest in eye care and ocular science and a commitment to delivering outstanding patient care.
