The Role
As a Solar Electrician Engineer, you will:
- Conduct reactive and scheduled preventative maintenance visits nationwide
- Perform system testing and fault diagnosis on domestic and commercial rooftop Solar PV systems
- Troubleshoot system design, installation, and monitoring platform communications
- Ensure all work aligns with best practice, system design specifications, and installed equipment
- Support and standardise technical approaches across the engineering team
- Provide technical support to the back-office function
- Travel across England, Wales, and Scotland (overnight stays Monday–Thursday may be required)
- Ensure full compliance with health and safety procedures and risk mitigation standards
Requirements
Essential:
- City & Guilds 2382 (18th Edition)
- NVQ Level 3 Qualification
- 2394 Test & Inspect (Dwelling)
- Minimum 5 years’ electrical experience
- Minimum 24 months’ experience in domestic and small commercial rooftop Solar PV
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic capability
- Confident working at heights (MEWP experience desirable)
- Strong IT literacy and ability to use remote monitoring systems
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Your work location is variable across the UK however the majority of your workload will take place with 100mile radius of Central London
Desirable:
- City & Guilds 2392 or 2395
- Experience commissioning G98 and G99 Solar PV systems
- Experience with systems up to 250kW capacity
- Maintenance experience within Solar PV
You must be able to confidently explain technical issues to customers in a clear, professional manner.
