Specialty and Integrated Medicine (SIM) encompasses a wide range of services within the Trust, including the Centre for Older Adults, HIV Outpatients, Infectious Diseases, General Internal Medicine, and Diabetes and Endocrinology. All of these services form part of Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust (LTHT).
The role will be primarily based at St James’s University Hospital, including the Gledhow Wing, Lincoln Wing, and Beckett Wing.
SIM is supported by a large, dedicated, and hardworking team that provides administrative support across 15 wards within the CSU. These include two admission wards, an Infectious Diseases ward, a Diabetes and Endocrinology ward, a General Medicine ward, and several Older People’s Medicine base wards. As the CSU continues to evolve, with new wards opening and services expanding, the team continues to grow and strengthen.
Our ward clerks work full-time in complementary patterns, collaborating closely and adjusting shifts where necessary to ensure consistent ward coverage, including during periods of annual leave. The team fosters a positive and supportive working environment, where colleagues consistently demonstrate professionalism, teamwork, and a friendly, approachable attitude.
We pride ourselves on being a welcoming and inclusive team, offering strong support to new starters and ensuring that all staff members feel valued and assisted at all times.
