Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Early Years Practitioner to join our small friendly nursery. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting the development and well-being of young children within a nurturing and stimulating environment. Duties
- Plan and implement age-appropriate activities that promote physical, emotional, social, and cognitive development
- Support children’s learning through play, exploration, and structured educational activities
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all children at all times, adhering to safeguarding policies
- Maintain a clean, organised, and welcoming environment for children and staff
- Communicate effectively with parents and carers regarding children's progress and daily routines
- Support colleagues in managing behaviour and fostering positive relationships among children
- Assist with administrative tasks related to child records, attendance, and activity planning
- Contribute to the organisation of outings or trips
- Lead by example in demonstrating professionalism, management skills, and leadership within the team
Experience
- Proven experience working with children in a nursery or early childhood setting
- Knowledge of early childhood education principles and childcare regulations
- Demonstrable management or leadership experience within a childcare environment
- Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written
- Experience in organising activities that support child development milestones
- Previous experience with nursery management or supervising staff is advantageous
