We’re looking for an experienced, hands‑on leader to oversee our dry cleaning and domestic laundry departments. About the Role
As our Dry Cleaning & Domestic Laundry Manager, you’ll be responsible for the smooth running of daily operations, ensuring garments and household items are processed to the highest standards. You’ll lead a dedicated team, manage workflow, maintain equipment, and uphold all health & safety requirements.
This is a fast‑paced, practical role suited to someone with strong organisational skills, technical garment‑care knowledge, and a commitment to excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily dry cleaning and domestic laundry production
- Lead, train, and support staff to achieve consistent performance
- Maintain high standards of quality, stain removal, finishing, and presentation
- Manage customer enquiries, special requests, and service issues
- Ensure safe operation and maintenance of all equipment
- Maintain compliance with COSHH, fire safety, manual handling, and PPE procedures
- Monitor stock levels and order chemicals, detergents, and consumables
- Oversee garment tagging, tracking, and workflow systems
- Maintain accurate operational records and reports
- Lead marketing/social media advertising campaigns and ideas
What We’re Looking For
- Experience in management duties
- Experience in dry cleaning, garment care, or commercial laundry - not essential
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Excellent attention to detail and quality focus
- Ability to manage workloads and meet deadlines
- Knowledge of spotting, stain removal, pressing, and finishing techniques
- A proactive, problem‑solving mindset
- Experience with working with the elderly
- Good telephone skills
- Must enjoy ironing for themselves
- Not bothered about getting their 'hands dirty' with customers dirty clothes and laundry
