Due to increasing demand, we are seeking an experienced and passionate Speech and Language Therapist to join our associate team and provide support within schools across the Dartford and Gravesend area.
The Role
You will be working with children and young people with Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN) and Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), delivering provision outlined within their Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).
This is an excellent opportunity for a therapist looking for flexible, rewarding work with autonomy over their schedule.
Responsibilities
- Deliver speech and language therapy assessments and interventions within schools.
- Support children and young people with a range of communication needs.
- Develop and review therapy targets linked to EHCP outcomes.
- Produce concise therapy reports and progress updates.
- Liaise effectively with school staff, parents and other professionals.
- Provide practical recommendations and strategies to support educational outcomes.
- Maintain accurate clinical records and documentation.
RequirementsEssential
- Degree in Speech and Language Therapy.
- HCPC registration.
- Membership of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (RCSLT).
- Enhanced DBS.
- Experience working with children and young people within educational settings.
- Ability to work independently and manage your own caseload.
- Access to a vehicle and willingness to travel to schools within the Dartford and Gravesend area.
Desirable
- Experience supporting children with:
- Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)
- ADHD
- Developmental Language Disorder (DLD)
- Speech sound difficulties
- Social communication needs
- Learning difficulties
