About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Hair Stylist / Colourist to join our salon in the Canary Wharf area.
We are particularly interested in stylists with strong practical skills in colouring, bleaching and perming, while also being confident in general cutting and styling.
This is a hands-on, client-facing role for someone who can work independently, carry out professional consultations and deliver consistently high-quality results.
The salon is based in a busy commercial area with strong customer potential. This role would suit a stylist looking to build a regular client base and develop a long-term career within the salon.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide professional colouring, bleaching, perming, cutting and styling services
- Carry out detailed client consultations before technical services
- Assess hair condition and suitability before colouring, bleaching or perming
- Recommend appropriate services and techniques based on the client’s hair condition and desired result
- Manage clients independently from consultation through to the finished result
- Maintain a consistently high standard of technical work and customer service
- Provide professional aftercare and maintenance advice
- Build and maintain good relationships with clients
- Maintain a clean, organised and professional working area
Technical Skills
We are particularly interested in applicants with strong experience in professional colour and chemical services, including:
- Hair colouring and colour formulation
- Bleaching and toning
- Highlights and lowlights
- Balayage and modern colour techniques
- Colour correction
- Perming and modern perm techniques
Applicants should also be confident in general cutting, blow-drying, styling and finishing.
You do not need to specialise in every technique listed above. We value technical ability, consistency and quality of work more than the number of services you can offer.
Requirements
- Strong practical ability in colouring and/or perming
- Confident in general cutting and styling
- Able to carry out professional consultations and work independently with clients
- Able to assess hair condition before technical or chemical services
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Reliable and professional at work
- Previous professional salon experience preferred
- No fixed minimum number of years of experience required — practical ability and quality of work are more important
- Must have the legal right to work in the UK
- No specific UK hairdressing qualification is required
Compensation & Benefits
We offer a competitive compensation package based on experience, technical ability and performance.
The package may include:
- Basic salary
- Performance bonuses
- Retail product commission

Full details of the compensation structure will be discussed during the interview and will depend on experience, technical ability and working arrangement.
