We are looking for a kind, reliable and enthusiastic Personal Assistant to support our wonderful nine-year-old son.
Our son is non-speaking but understands most spoken instructions and follows directions well. He attends a specialist school and is a happy and engaging child who benefits from caring, patient and consistent support.
Working hours
· Approximately 5–14 hours per week during school term time
· Usually 1–2 hours on weekday evenings after school time (5 pm onwards)
· Approximately 3–4 hours on Fridays
· Additional hours may be available during school holidays, subject to availability
Some flexibility can be discussed.
Main responsibilities
· Spending quality time with our son through play and educational activities
· Supporting his communication, independence and social development
· Accompanying him on suitable local outings and activities
· Providing engaging and enjoyable support
· Ensuring his safety and wellbeing at all times
About you
We are looking for someone who is:
· Kind, patient, caring and dependable
· Genuinely interested in helping children reach their potential
· Comfortable and confident working with children
· Able to provide consistent and reliable support
Previous experience supporting children with autism or other additional needs would be highly desirable, but it is not essential. We welcome applications from people who have a genuine interest in supporting children and are willing to learn.
An Enhanced DBS certificate, or willingness to obtain one, is preferred.

Payment:
We already have a Direct Payments payroll system in place to employ a Personal Assistant. This is an existing PA position becoming available because our current PA is leaving due to a change in her personal circumstances after being with us for a while.
