An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Mortgage Adviser or Mortgage and Protection Adviser to join a successful and established mortgage brokerage on a self-employed basis.
This is a remote position offering a regular supply of introductions from several established independent estate agency partners. The successful adviser will manage clients from initial enquiry through to mortgage offer and completion while providing a professional and compliant service.
Candidates must live within approximately 2.5 hours of Reading and be willing to attend occasional training sessions and business meetings.
The Role
As a self-employed Mortgage Adviser, you will provide professional mortgage advice to clients introduced through the company's estate agency partners.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Contacting and qualifying new mortgage leads
- Conducting detailed client fact-finds
- Assessing affordability and individual borrowing requirements
- Researching the mortgage market and recommending suitable products
- Advising on residential purchases, remortgages and buy-to-let mortgages
- Providing protection advice where qualified and applicable
- Managing mortgage applications from enquiry through to completion
- Liaising with lenders, estate agents, solicitors and clients
- Maintaining regular communication with estate agency partners
- Building strong relationships with introducers and clients
- Completing accurate and compliant documentation
- Maintaining up-to-date client records on the company CRM
- Following up leads promptly and managing a strong sales pipeline
- Delivering excellent customer service throughout the mortgage journey
- Working one in four Saturdays
Essential Requirements
The successful candidate will ideally have:
- Current or recent experience as a Mortgage Adviser or Mortgage and Protection Adviser
- CeMAP qualification or an equivalent recognised mortgage-advice qualification
- Strong knowledge of the UK mortgage market and lender criteria
- Experience managing mortgage cases from initial enquiry through to completion
- A strong understanding of FCA regulations and compliant advice processes
- Excellent communication, relationship-building and sales skills
- The ability to convert estate agency introductions into mortgage business
- Strong organisation and pipeline-management skills
- The motivation and discipline required to work remotely on a self-employed basis
- The ability to attend occasional meetings and training near Reading
- Availability to work one in four Saturdays
