Customer Services Officer – Fixed Term for 12 months, ending 30 September 2027.
We are looking for a motivated and customer-focused individual to join our Customer Services team as a Customer Services Officer on a fixed-term basis for 12 months, ending on 30 September 2027.
This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in providing an effective link between customers and Council services. You will deal with telephone enquiries primarily but you may also be required to deal with enquiries across a range of other access channels, including face to face, email, social media and digital platforms, helping customers to access the right information and support at the first point of contact wherever possible.
The role will involve supporting customers with a wide range of Council services, including Council Tax, Housing Benefits, Housing Repairs, Homelessness, Blue Badge applications, Licensing, Refuse and Recycling, Public Protection and other service areas. You will also encourage customers to use online services where appropriate, supporting the Council’s commitment to making services more accessible and efficient.
You will need excellent communication and interpersonal skills, a caring and professional approach, good IT and keyboard skills, and the ability to work accurately in a busy environment. Experience of recognising and responding positively to customers’ needs is essential, along with the confidence to support customers who may be facing challenging circumstances.
The successful candidate will be flexible, proactive and committed to delivering high-quality customer care. You may be required to work across different access channels and locations within Carmarthenshire, including rural areas, to support operational needs.
If you are enthusiastic, organised and passionate about helping people, we would welcome your application.
