Drainage Engineer
Working location: Based out of Horton but including all McAllister site locations.
Reporting Structure:
1. Direct line manager – Operations Manager reporting into the Head of Operations (UK).
2. Indirect reporting line to the Site Supervisor in their workstreams.
3. In the absence of your direct line manager (Operations Manager), any questions or concerns should be raised either to the McAllister Site Supervisor you are working for at the time, or, the McAllister Site Safety Manager depending on the subject matter.
Role Purpose:
Work flexibly and responsively on both pre-planned and reactive emergency drainage projects, assessing and solving problems as and when they arise.
Responsibilities and Focus:
1. Safely enter and work within confined spaces such as tanks, sewers and pipelines for cleaning, maintenance, inspection and repair tasks.
2. Understand the company process of low, medium and high risk entry.
3. Adhere strictly to all safety regulations, company policies and safety procedures for confined space entry.
4. Conduct thorough inspections and perform necessary maintenance or repair work, ensuring the integrity and functionality of the confined spaces.
5. Operate and maintain various tools and equipment used for confined space work, including gas detectors, ventilation systems and communication devices.
6. To understand the process of low, medium and high risk entry.
7. Accurately document all work performed, including safety checks, permits, entry logs and maintenance records, ensuring compliance with company and regulatory requirements.
8. Work closely with confined space team members, including safety observers, supervisors and other technical staff, to ensure efficient and safe operations.
9. Be prepared to respond to emergencies promptly and effectively, following all established emergency protocols.
Essential Criteria:
1. 1 years’ experience working in a similar role.
