Job Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Care Workers/Support Worker who speaks spanish to provide high-quality care and support to individuals in various settings, including assisted living, nursing homes, and home care environments. The role involves assisting clients with daily activities, ensuring their safety and wellbeing, and promoting independence. Candidates should possess a genuine desire to make a positive difference in people's lives and be committed to delivering respectful, person-centred care. Experience in dementia, Alzheimer's, hospice, or senior care is highly desirable.
Duties
- Assist clients with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
- Support with mobility and transfer activities, including heavy lifting when necessary
- Administer medication following prescribed protocols and maintain accurate records
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary requirements
- Engage clients in meaningful activities to promote mental and emotional wellbeing
- Manage behaviour effectively and implement behaviour management strategies
- Provide companionship and emotional support to reduce feelings of loneliness or isolation
- Support with medical appointments and transportation if required, including driving responsibilities
- Maintain a clean and safe environment in accordance with health and safety regulations
- Assist with specialised care needs such as dementia or Alzheimer's care, hospice support, or child care as applicable
Qualifications
- Previous experience in assisted living, nursing home, or home care settings is advantageous
- Knowledge of patient care practices including medication administration and first aid certification is preferred
- Familiarity with dementia, Alzheimer's, hospice, or senior care enhances suitability for the role
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and assist with mobility needs
- Valid driving licence for transportation duties is desirable but not essential
- Excellent communication skills and a compassionate approach to caregiving
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
