Level 3 Nursery Practitioner

Job Purpose
To provide high-quality care, learning, and development opportunities for children in accordance with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework. The Level 3 Nursery Practitioner is responsible for creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment that supports each child's individual needs and promotes their wellbeing and development.
Key ResponsibilitiesChildcare and Development
- Provide a safe, caring, and inclusive environment for all children.
- Plan and deliver engaging activities that support children's learning and development in line with the EYFS.
- Observe, assess, and record children's progress, identifying next steps in learning.
- Act as a key person for allocated children, building positive relationships with children and their families.
- Support children's emotional, social, physical, and cognitive development.
- Encourage independence, confidence, and positive behaviour through consistent and appropriate guidance.
Safeguarding and Welfare
- Follow all safeguarding and child protection policies and procedures.
- Ensure children's health, safety, and wellbeing are maintained at all times.
- Carry out daily risk assessments and maintain a safe learning environment.
- Administer first aid and medication in accordance with nursery policies (where trained and authorised).
- Maintain confidentiality in line with GDPR and nursery policies.
Partnership with Parents and Carers
- Develop positive relationships with parents and carers.
- Share information about children's progress, achievements, and wellbeing.
- Participate in parent meetings, events, and transition arrangements.
- Respond professionally to parental queries and concerns.
Teamwork
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to deliver high-quality childcare.
- Support apprentices, students, and new staff where appropriate.
- Attend staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities.
- Contribute to maintaining a positive and supportive working environment.
Environment and Resources
- Prepare and maintain stimulating learning environments both indoors and outdoors.
- Ensure toys, equipment, and resources are clean, safe, and suitable for use.
- Promote equality, diversity, and inclusion throughout the nursery.
Person SpecificationEssential Qualifications
- Level 3 Early Years Educator qualification (or equivalent recognised qualification).
- Paediatric First Aid certificate (desirable or willingness to obtain).
- Enhanced DBS check.
Knowledge
- Good understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
- Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
- Understanding of child development from birth to five years.
Skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to build positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues.
- Strong observation and record-keeping skills.
- Good organisational and time-management skills.

Pay: £29,000.00-£31,000.00 per hour
