Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Nursery Practitioner to join our childcare team. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for young children, supporting their development and learning through engaging activities. This role offers an opportunity to utilise management and leadership skills whilst working closely with children to foster their early years' growth.
Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver age-appropriate activities that promote children's physical, emotional, social, and cognitive development
- Supervise and ensure the safety of children at all times within the nursery environment
- Build strong relationships with children, parents, and colleagues through effective communication
- Maintain accurate records of children's progress and daily routines
- Support children's individual needs, including behavioural management and personalised care plans
- Assist in organising nursery activities, outings, and events
- Uphold nursery policies and procedures in line with regulatory standards
- Contribute to a positive team environment by providing leadership and guidance to junior staff or apprentices
Requirements
- Proven experience working with children within a nursery or early childhood setting
- Strong management and leadership skills to oversee daily operations and team coordination
- Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written
- Knowledge of early childhood education principles and childcare regulations
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team while demonstrating initiative
- Valid driving licence is desirable for transporting children or supplies when required
- Passionate about child development with a caring, patient demeanour
- Relevant qualifications in childcare or early years education are preferred but not essential for all applicants
