We’re looking for an organised, proactive, and enthusiastic Assistant Manager to join our leadership team.
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS — MUST HAVE
✅ Minimum 3 years’ experience working in a pub or busy hospitality venue, proven hands-on operational experience
✅ MUST HOLD A VALID PERSONAL LICENCE, absolute requirement to legally supervise alcohol sales; cannot proceed without this
✅ Willing & able to work LATE NIGHTS, EARLY STARTS & FINISHES UP TO 3AM, essential for this role
✅ NO LIVE-IN accommodation provided, this is a live-out role only
✅ Available Monday mornings for mandatory management meetings & admin work, plus evenings, weekends & late shifts
✅ Eligibility to work in the UK
The Role
Work closely with the Owner and Management Team to keep operations running smoothly, support and empower staff, and ensure every guest leaves with a smile. Hands-on leadership across all areas of the venue, including late-night closing shifts up to 3am and early starts.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead shifts, including late-night closes up to 3am and early opening duties
- Support, motivate and empower the team to deliver outstanding service across all service periods
- Manage daily operations, opening/closing procedures, bookings, stock levels and orders
- Cash handling, invoicing, stock counts and basic admin tasks
- Maintain impeccable standards of cleanliness, presentation and compliance
- Resolve guest and operational issues calmly and efficiently, especially during busy/late services
- Uphold all licensing, health & safety and responsible alcohol-serving regulations critical for late-night operations
- Attend Monday morning management meetings and complete weekly admin
- Work a flexible rota including early starts, evenings, weekends, late services & finishes up to 3am
Skills & Qualities
- Strong organisation & time management able to juggle tasks under pressure and maintain focus during long/late shifts
- Excellent communication, approachable, dependable, with exemplary customer service especially during busy late-night periods
- Great attention to detail across all areas of the role
- Calm problem-solver able to make sensible, quick decisions, often under pressure
- Basic numeracy for cash, stock and invoices
- Team-oriented, reliable and fully flexible committed to early starts and late finishes up to 3am
- GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths & English preferred
