Do you enjoy helping others and want to make a difference in peoples daily lives? We have an exciting opportunity to join our friendly team as an Extra Care Catering Assistant/Cleaner at Llys Glan Yr Afon Extra Care Scheme in Newtown .
This dual-role opportunity gives you the chance to work as a Part-time Cleaner or Catering Assistant , depending on the needs of the scheme.
Whilst the position supports both areas the 12 hours is allocated for the Cleaner role, with the opportunity to pick up Catering Assistant shifts to support any gaps that need to be filled due to annual leave or sickness cover.
What will you be doing?
Depending on which role you are working in, your duties will include:
As a Cleaner:
Carrying out routine cleaning of communal areas such as lounges, dining rooms, and bathrooms there is no cleaning of residents rooms required for this role.
Following cleaning schedules and infection control procedures.
Ensuring a safe, tidy, and pleasant environment for residents and visitors.
As a Catering Assistant:
Serving residents meals
Helping with setting up and clearing the dining area.
Supporting residents with meal choices and ensuring a welcoming dining experience.
Helping in the kitchen with small prep jobs such as peeling and chopping vegetables, and making sandwiches.
Helping to keep the kitchen area and restaurant area clean and tidy
Following food hygiene and safety standards.
You will also follow key policies, report concerns promptly, and provide a welcoming, supportive presence for residents.
This is not a personal care role. You will not be expected to provide personal care or medical support to residents. Your focus will be on catering and cleaning tasks to maintain a safe and welcoming environment for our residents.

We are looking for someone who is:
Friendly, reliable, and approachable.
Happy to work in a fast-paced environment
Able to work well as part of a team but also confident working independently.
Flexible and willing to support either catering or cleaning tasks.
Comfortable interacting with residents in a positive and respectful way.
No previous experience is required, just a willingness to learn and a commitment to high standards.
