Salary range includes 15% Shift Allowance, working a 24/5 pattern of Days, Nights, and Afternoons.
The Shift Operations Managers role provides leadership and management within a diverse and fast paced manufacturing environment. The role ensures that all production areas meet their objectives, maximising production efficiency, alongside compliance of all Legal and Legislative Requirements.
Responsibilities include:-
- Accountable for managing the shift teams (Production and Engineering) to deliver the production plan to agreed product quality / specification and performance targets.
- To pro-actively manage the Health and Safety of the operation, ensuring that all operational teams are fully compliant and keeping all documentation e.g. Risk Assessments up to date.
- To advise on Maintenance priorities with the Engineering Team resources
- To manage the performance of the teams, developing the teams where appropriate. Ensuring performance is maintained to the highest standard and managed via effective performance management review.
- Accountable for the working environment and the maintenance and improvement of the standards at all times meeting with (and exceeding) company requirements.
- Identify and lead Continuous improvement projects with the shift teams, providing leadership and oversight to drive efficiency throughout the operation.
- To achieve compliance with all Health, Safety and Environmental requirements, Food Safety requirements, Legislative requirements, GMP and company policies and procedures.
- Managing any emergency or potential disaster in line with the company’s DRP
- Managing any unannounced audits in relation to Quality or Safety (or any official external body eg HSE) outside of normal working hours
- Managing investigations in to breaches of rules, accidents or catastrophic failures in real time
- Conducting performance improvement meetings and formal meetings in accordance with the company disciplinary procedures
- Qualifications (Desirable)
- Degree level desirable but not essential.
- Level 5/Diploma – HNC/D
- Understanding of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering highly desirable
- Food Safety & Hygiene/Quality/HACCP/H&S Qualifications
