Living at Home is currently expanding our care team and we are looking for reliable, compassionate and flexible Home Care Assistants who are able to provide a high level of availability across our service.
We recognise that flexibility is extremely valuable in home care. We have therefore introduced a new Premium Rate Home Care Assistant position, paying £15.00 per hour, for team members who can offer the availability our service requires.
The Premium Rate
To qualify for our £15.00 per hour Premium Rate, you must be able to offer full availability across our operating hours:
7:00am to 11:00pm
Monday to Sunday
This does not mean you will work from 7:00am until 11:00pm every day.
It means you must have the flexibility to be scheduled for agreed shifts across this operating window, including weekdays, evenings and weekends, in accordance with your contracted hours and rota.
Premium Rate Home Care Assistants will receive:
- £15.00 per hour for care work
- Travel time paid at National Minimum Wage
- 50p per mile mileage allowance
- Regular contracted/rota hours
- Ongoing training and development
- Support from an experienced local management team
- Opportunities to progress within Living at Home
Looking for More Limited Availability?
We also welcome applications from people who cannot offer the full availability required for the Premium Rate position.
Our enhanced standard rates are:
£13.25 per hour – Weekdays
£14.00 per hour – Weekends
Plus:
- Travel time paid at National Minimum Wage
- 45p per mile mileage allowance
This means there may still be an opportunity to join Living at Home even if your availability is more restricted.
About the Role
As a Home Care Assistant, you will support people to remain independent and comfortable in their own homes.
Your work may include:
- Supporting clients with personal care
- Preparing meals and drinks
- Medication support
- Companionship
- Supporting mobility
- Shopping and light household tasks
- Attending appointments
- Promoting independence, dignity and choice
- Providing reassurance to clients and their families
You don't simply visit someone's home to complete a list of tasks. You become an important part of helping that person continue living safely and independently within their own community.
Who We're Looking For
We're looking for people who are:

- Willing to work as part of a wider care team
- Able to travel between clients within Swansea and surrounding areas
Previous care experience is welcomed but is not always essential, as training and ongoing support can be provided.
You must hold a full driving licence and have access to a suitable vehicle. This is an essential requirement of the role due to the need to travel between clients’ homes throughout Swansea and the surrounding areas.
