Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Care Assistant to provide high-quality support to individuals in care homes and within their own homes. The successful candidate will play a vital role in assisting with daily activities, ensuring residents' comfort and wellbeing, and supporting care plans. Duties
- Assist residents or clients with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Support individuals with their daily routines, including meal preparation and assistance with eating if required
- Follow care plans accurately to meet each individual's specific needs
- Maintain clear communication with residents, family members, and healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated care
- Observe and report any changes in health or behaviour promptly to the relevant team members
- Assist with light domestic duties within the care environment to promote a safe and clean living space
- Support individuals in participating in social activities to enhance their wellbeing and quality of life
- Utilise IT systems to document care activities accurately and efficiently
- Drive or accompany residents on outings or appointments when necessary (driving licence preferred)
Qualifications
- Good communication skills in English, both written and verbal
- Previous experience working within a care home or providing home care is advantageous but not essential as training will be provided
- Basic IT skills for documentation purposes
- Ability to build rapport with diverse individuals and demonstrate empathy and patience
- Reliable, organised, and able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Valid driving licence is desirable but not mandatory; willingness to learn driving responsibilities is appreciated
