Outdoor Education Coordinator
Part-time, 3 days per week | Start date: September 2026
The Maynard School is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Outdoor Education Coordinator to lead and develop our vibrant and ambitious Outdoor Education programme.
Outdoor Education is an important and highly valued part of life at The Maynard. We have a strong culture of participation in the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, a successful Ten Tors programme, regular curriculum-linked outdoor experiences and a biannual overseas expedition programme. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about outdoor learning and wants to make a real difference to the experiences and development of young people.
The successful candidate will provide strategic leadership for Outdoor Education across the School, while also being actively involved in planning and delivering expeditions, trips and adventurous activities. They will oversee programmes including DofE, Ten Tors and residential and overseas experiences, support and develop colleagues, and ensure that activities are delivered safely, effectively and in line with the School’s values.
We are looking for someone who is highly organised, resourceful and approachable, with strong outdoor experience and a genuine passion for working with young people. The successful candidate will ideally hold Mountain Leader (or equivalent) qualification, together with a portfolio of outdoor qualifications and experience of leading outdoor activities, residentials and expeditions.

Training and development will be provided for the right candidate, and we particularly welcome applications from those with the enthusiasm, leadership skills and potential to develop within the role.

Hours: Part-time, 3 days per week, with additional expedition and residential commitments throughout the year
