Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and professional Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely transporting goods, ensuring timely deliveries, and maintaining the vehicle in excellent condition. This role requires excellent communication skills, a strong understanding of driving regulations, and the ability to navigate efficiently within designated routes. Previous delivery driver experience is highly desirable to support smooth operations and vehicle maintenance.
Duties
- Safely operate company vehicles, including lorries and delivery vans, in accordance with road safety regulations.
- Plan and follow efficient routes to ensure timely deliveries or pickups.
- Conduct routine inspections of the vehicle before and after journeys, reporting any maintenance issues promptly.
- Assist with basic vehicle maintenance tasks such as checking oil levels, tyre pressure, and fluid levels.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients regarding delivery schedules or any delays.
- Ensure all deliveries are completed accurately and in good condition, adhering to company standards.
- Maintain accurate records of journeys, and vehicle maintenance logs.
- Comply with all health and safety regulations during driving operations.
Skills
- Proven class 2 experience as a delivery driver or in a similar role, with strong driving skills.
- Mechanical knowledge to perform basic vehicle maintenance and troubleshoot minor issues.
- Excellent communication skills in English for clear interaction with clients and team members.
- Knowledge of commercial driving regulations and licensing requirements relevant to the role.
- Ability to operate various types of vehicles safely and efficiently.
- Strong organisational skills to plan routes effectively and manage time well.
