Peter James Motor Group is looking for an experienced MET Technician / Stripper Fitter to join our busy, well-established BSI Kitemark Approved Accident Repair Centre in Dagenham.
We're looking for someone with strong hands-on MET experience who takes pride in producing high-quality work.
The Role
· Strip and refit vehicles before and after repair and paintwork.
· Remove and refit bumpers, doors, trims, dashboards and interior components.
· Carry out suspension and general mechanical work associated with accident repairs.
· Remove, refit and check vehicle electrical components and wiring.
· Carry out diagnostic checks and identify faults or additional damage.
· Carry out wheel alignment and geometry work where required.
· Identify additional parts or repair requirements during the repair process.
· Work with ADAS and Hybrid systems where qualified, however training available for the right candidate.
· Ensure vehicles are safely and correctly reassembled to a high standard.
· Work closely with our Panel, Paint and Parts teams to keep repairs progressing efficiently.
About You
· Previous experience as an MET Technician / Stripper Fitter.
· Confident working with mechanical, electrical and trim components across a variety of makes and models.
· Good diagnostic and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
· MET qualifications such as ATA, NVQ, IMI or City & Guilds are desirable.
· Hybrid and ADAS qualifications would be an advantage
MET qualifications such as ATA, NVQ, IMI or City & Guilds, along with Hybrid and ADAS qualifications, are desirable but not essential for the right experienced candidate. Further training and qualifications can be provided, with salary reflecting experience and qualifications held.
