Roy's Kitchen is an exciting, family-run restaurant bringing authentic Mauritian cuisine and warm hospitality to Ewell. As we prepare to open our brand-new restaurant, we're looking for hardworking and reliable Kitchen Porters to join our opening team.
As a Kitchen Porter, you'll play a vital role in supporting our chefs by maintaining a clean, organised, and safe kitchen environment. You'll help ensure the kitchen operates efficiently while maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and food safety.
We're looking for motivated individuals who work well under pressure, take pride in their work, and enjoy being part of a fast-paced team.
Responsibilities
- Wash, clean, and sanitise dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment to maintain excellent hygiene standards.
- Keep kitchen workstations, floors, storage areas, and wash-up areas clean and organised throughout each shift.
- Assist chefs with basic food preparation tasks when required.
- Receive, unpack, and store deliveries safely and efficiently.
- Replenish kitchen supplies and equipment during service.
- Dispose of waste and recycling in accordance with food safety and health and safety procedures.
- Follow all cleaning schedules and maintain high standards of kitchen hygiene.
- Support the kitchen team during busy service periods to ensure smooth operations.
- Assist with opening and closing kitchen duties as required.
Skills & Experience
- Previous experience as a Kitchen Porter or within a commercial kitchen is preferred.
- A strong work ethic and a positive attitude.
- Ability to work efficiently in a busy, fast-paced kitchen environment.
- Excellent attention to cleanliness, organisation, and hygiene.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Understanding of food hygiene and health and safety practices is advantageous.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and bank holidays.
- Right to work in the UK.
